Hi there, I'm Mateo
I work as a project manager, I'm a parent, and I'm an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
Several years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in our grand plan. Like many expat transitions, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
The adjustment phase involved culture shock, ambiguity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Over time, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Ember Field Path
Much of what’s available online centers on corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What’s lacking is a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Is About (And Isn't About)
This site is:
- Real-life experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to contact me.
All the best,
Mateo
